Hello to all,

two Md110; site A and site B, are connected via IP trunks with codec priority G.711, G729AB,.. at both MDs.

there are IP extensions in site B with codec priority G.729AB, G729A,...,G711.

when calling from any extension of site A to IP extensions of site B G711 is chosen. Meanwhile when calling from any of the IP extensions of site B to any extension of site A G729AB is chosen.

I need at both directions G729 to be used but not changing the priority codecs of IP trunks between two MDs.

Any idea?

The priority of codecs for ip extension is in the config.txt file. The priority of codecs for ip trunk is in the command riani/rianc.

IPGKP:LIM=ALL;
IPGDP:LIM+ALL;
IP Calls between two different gatekeepers:
The codec of the domain will be compared with the codec of the IP device, and a new list of made of the common codec’s between the two. Then that list is compared with the gateway codec list and only the common codec’s are kept, this process is also running on the other side of the call, both parties have a final codec list, after determining which device is master and which is slave, the codec that’s on the first priority list of the master device will be chosen if available in the slave device, if not will try the second codec etc.

Make sure that the G729ab or G729a which ever you want is on the top list in the:
1.Configuration file of the IP Phone you will have to reboot them for the effect to take place.
2.IPGKP:LIM=all;
3.IPGDP:LIM=all;
