Hi,

I have a problem on my site telephone try to register on a CLAN that i do not want to used to register telephone due to voice over IP recording but the telephone is never changing the IP of the clan. I have already a lot of telephone registering on the other clan. How can i avoid a telepehone to register to a CLAN currenlty i'm blocking the traffic from a Firewall poitn of view maybe there is a better solution to do it directly on the PBX.. note that all the telephone depends on 1 region and all the clan epends from another region.

do you used DHCP or static addressing?

If you use DHCP you'll have as scope that lists the CLANs available for registering, remove the CLAN from this you don't want to use for your telephones

using DHCP with option 176 how should i put the string with the different IP I have only 1 for the moment in the string.

Avaya told me that no matter what ip is in that option 176 string, the system will perform "load balancing" and equally distribute the registrations among the clans...

correct but i guess that if 1 CLAN is not replying and still available the telephone trying to register are not going to register until forever on the faulty CLAN because there is a load balancing between all the PBX board...

dmouge,

the solution is simple: assign the c-lan you don't want to be used as a gatekeeper some non-existent network region. if you have more than one c-lan with the same network region assigned, the system will balance load between them automatically and you can't do anything with that.
