Hi,
does anybody get ipo wan 2 wan connections running in anything that resembles a stable state.
I have a 1meg lease lines that continually keep crashing and disabling voip calls but still allows data transferance.
HELP!!!
We have a number of sites running with reliable Wan2Wan connections (some on 128K!).
Things to check :-
1) both sites are running the same version of software
2) the wan ports are correctly configured (speed, mode & RAS Name)
3) your ras service is correctly configured.
**** the Multilink setting in the PPP tab also enables QOS this was not documented prior to 1.3) ****
4) ensure your VOIP Settings in the VPN lines are IDENTICAL
5) get your network provider to check the line!
If you are still having problems ask a 3rd party to check your CFG's
remember if you are using small community networking extention numbers & names must be uniqe across both sites
Cheers IPGuru,
The same s/w is at both sites1.3(37)
all of the wan, ras, voip and multilink settings are identical, the configs have been checked, rechecked and checked again.
I set up a bespoke monitor trace and are getting a cause 38 error when the voip stops but "normal" data continues to be xferred.
still HELP!!!
Would you be willing to e-mail me copies of the cfg's?
The only thing I can think of if it is not a cfg error is taht 1 or maore VCC modules may be faulty but that usualy just results in no speach transmision.
This is not a problem I've encountered before and I know of many IP Offices linked via WANs. Cause code 38 points to the Network being Out of Order. If the configs have been checked and are ok then I would get the network provider to check the line. Make sure they check sufficiently enough to actually capture the problem or else they will probably say the line is ok.
It sounds like you have a hardware or network fault, I have done a lot of Lab testing and we have a couple sites running using the IPO router and VoIP and all's good.
