We are running IP Office Version 10.2 (52) here in the office. We have remote users for whom we forward calls for when they are out of the office. When forwarding to local numbers, if the user does not answer, our company voicemail will pick up the call. That works great and exactly how we want it to work. However, for our long distance staff, we have setup their extensions to forward to a Shortcode. The shortcode is setup as a Direct Dial with their long distance number and a code to use long distance. When they do not answer, the call goes to their VM on their mobile device or whatever device they are using. How can we make it where the company voicemail will pickup instead of their personal device for LD forwarding?

set the timer value lower than the cell phone timer, this will need testing thou as you will need to tweak the timer on the IP Office

1. Why do you have it going to a short code? Just forward in the user the same way you do with the others.

2. You just need to make sure that their no answer time is expiring before the cell phone voicemail picks up(assuming PRI or SIP trunks).

When we forward to long distance numbers we have to enter a code at the end of the number. We have found there has to be a break at the end of the number before the code. We use the letter Y to insert a break. If we try to just enter that into the forwarding, we get the message - No match found for the specified alias. So we do a Dial Direct shortcode and enter the number like so: 81919xxxxxxxY85

I've put the No Answer Time (Telephony - Call Settings) down to the lowest point which is 6 and it still goes the person's personal email instead of back
to the company voicemail.

Perhaps the call is considered answered at the point that the telephone company is prompting you for the long distance authorization code, and that's why it isn't being pulled back to the internal voicemail?

When I've dealt with forwarding users to long distance numbers and requiring a telephone company auth code, I've put a USER shortcode of 9+{the LD number},,,,,,,{auth code} on the user, and it seems to work fine.
