I've seen info on this site and some other sites like Carroll Communications but most of the threads are outdated or have really incomplete answers. There really isn't info on moving servers in knowledge base.
We are doing an upgrade for a customer while moving servers and I thought I would list out the steps, if anyone wants make additions or changes to what I've listed below please do. My hope is for people who search this site or even google search this process will find a complete answer.
Install Voicemail pro 8.1 on the new server.
During install, enter SMTP info if applicable.
Don't start the service on the new server yet.
On the old server, Stop the Service.
Within the voicemail pro client, go to File and Export and choose export as a .mdb .
From the old voicemail Server copy the VM folder found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro.
On the new server, replace the VM folder with the VM folder from the old server.
Log into the Voicemail Pro client and import the .mbd file.
Start the service.
In IP Office manager, make any necessary changes to the voicemail IP address.
