HI, I have a customer that started out many years ago as a Merlin Legend. They subsequently did a software upgrade back in 2001 from a legend 6.0 to a magix 2.0.

They are now thinking about replacing this system with an IP Office, but want to know what the differences are in Features between the 2 systems.

Basically, are all the station and system features they have now, also available on the IP Office ?

What new features would an IP Office give them that they don't have now ?

I have on hand some older SMBS Solutions Matrix's from Avaya, but one (from 2005) is too brief and doesn't discuss features and the one from 2002 is TOO long.

They just want to make sure there won;t be any "gotchas" of missing features if they go with an IP Office.

Thanks

No Direct to vm transfer button though there is something close.

CA buttons are different they always receive ring unless the calling user uses a dial intercom shortcode or programmed button first.

No true night service button but again there is something close

Tempoary schedules are a little tough but with conditions editor it can be done well enough.

Coverage works the about the same

There is Key mode on IPO but I personally don't like it. If its a magix hopefully you are comming from PBX mode.

No new/old message count in 4412 display

Programming functions at the phone is limited. but thrugh GUI very powerful.

Those are a few I can think of quick.

Changing to IP Office will "feel" like a totally different phone system. If they were to use voicemail pro - the user interface is very similar to Merlin Messaging or other Avaya voicemail platforms. IP Office had a great number of strengths and some weaknesses. Like any other phone system decision, it depends on what the customer needs.

I have a rather large base of Hollywood-type customers who cannot use IP Office due to the limitations associated with bridged appearance.

I won't argue the case or go into detail. If you have this specific kind of customer, then no explanation is necessary.

Point is that if your company relies heavily on bridging to accomodate "boss-secretary" communications, you'll need to warm them up to an acceptable workaround.

Fortunately, there are IP Office experts (like 1043) all over this board who can help with this sort of thing.
