I have Avaya IP Office V9
Just recently switched to Gmail server for Voicemail to email.
Can not seem to resolve this issue.
It is not embedded.
server address:smtp.gmail.com
using port 465
use STARTTLS clicked
Requires authentication clicked.

i also tried ports 587 and 993

Any reason you haven't turned on logging to see what the error is?
Do you have two factor auth enabled for your gmail account? If so, you need to create an application password, or turn on less secure app auth or whatever gmail calls it.

Did you create an app password via gmail and enter that in Manager? That's the only way I get gmail to work.

Also, if all the voicemails are being emailed to the same google apps domain, you can use aspmx.l.google.com without auth. This only works for the google apps domains, and only if the unit will be sending to only one domain.

You can send emails to other gmail accounts without authentication or encryption

Mail Domain: your local IP address
Mail server: aspmx.l.google.com (that is a lower case L just in case you are wondering)
port 25
sender: real gmail account
no authentication

this will send to any gmail address but not to any email address that is not gmail

Cheers
