I have just heard a wisper that IP Office V 3.0 software will NOT be released until March 2005.
reason being that Avaya have not tested the software sufficiently enough for release

March sounds a little extream to me.
I certainly have not recieved this information from avaya

V3.0 Is currently undergoing field trials & "May" ship by the end of december.

Personaly I would prefer Avaya to extend the Trial if necessary to ensure a stable release.

If this means March or even May then good.

I’ve heard its been put back but by no specific date.. Mainly due to the 2.1 problems.. nice to see avaya showing they can spend money like the rest of the in dublin this week..

I heard yesterday from Avaya rep 3.0 due Dec 6th

The secret of Joy in work is contained in one word- excellence- To know how to do something well is to enjoy it..

Tier 3 in the states recently swore it would be out by Dec 15th in Canada.... but I am skeptical, like IPGuru I'd rather wait than have another 2.1.15 fiasco on our hands.

Heard from my SBS rep that "there are change to the IP Office 3.0" and told me he'd update me when he returns. I'll let you guys know what I hear.

They can KEEP 3.0 for as long as it takes to fix it's bugs. We used the field trial for about 3 days before giving up on it....

And they STILL haven't added cascading outcalling. :( Boo!

Dispensing quality rants and mishaps since 1999:

I have just heard from another source today that 3.0 will not be out till march strange maybe its just the same rumour getting round..

I also heard yesterday that Rel 3.0 will not be out until March 2005.

I've heard the same on 2.1 some months ago, wishfull thinking i guess.

With Rel 3 you will be able to set the system up in KEY mode. I think the delay is due to Avaya training computer people to think like a "Phone Man". LOL

I'm testing 3.0 now and I would hope it wouldn't be december. Lets just say reboot-reboot-reboot... However, I'm personally pleased with the new features. I've been waiting for my "red light" for a while now...

Just heard that 3.0 will be March - gutted as it does look very very good. But I would rather it was working on release so I'm happy with the delay if they feel it is needed.

2.1(27) is coming up, but watch out..... 2.1(28) is getting closer!

yes release date seems to be March 21st now.

What is coming out on the Dec 15 is going to be the new 406 V2, IP Office Customer Management and the new DECT enhancements.

November to March - that is a longggggg delay. I've got deals waiting to be installed based on the new 5410 phone - they aren't going to be happy now!!

Having just now started browsing through the 60 page PDF, in which Avaya declares Dec 15th release of both rev 3.0 and the new IP406 v2, I wonder..........

IF they delay rev3.0, does that mean IP406v2's new ports and features are dead until rev3.0 is available to go with it?

The only port that I would doubt is the embedded voicemail.

a) needs supply of the suitable card (its different from the Small Office one

b) needs to be setup using a library of uncompressed prompts currently supplied on the 3.0 beta builds, so not available unless they're also planning a new release of 2.1 Admin CD.

If anyone has 3.0.14, could you please e-mail me the .bin's? I've got 3.0.12 and boy-o-boy is it buggy.

Thanks...

V3.0(14) is available from the Avaya Trialsite FTP server

If you or your distributor do not have the access details for this site then you probably should not be running trial software

Folks,

I've just seen an official SMBS EMEA Sales & Marketing News Flash (posh word for an email to resellers).

The key paragraphs are pasted below:

The date the 3.0 product will ship to you will be moved to March 21st (orderable on March 7th, 2005). The additional time will ensure that all the enhancements are customer ready and easy to implement for your partners.

We are releasing several elements of the 3.0 product as previously announced. On December 15th, the following items will be ready to ship to you.

IP Office 406 Version 2 with its more compact design will be ready with the current release of IP Office 2.1.

IP Office Customer Management, powered by Microsoft CRM, will also be available.

New enhancements to DECT, as stated in the October 14th product update.
