make sure you increase the number of sip trunks from 0 to whatever number needed in system --> Telephony Maximum Sip Sessions

been siiting here messing with it and just found this is a Server Edition feature and strange thing is in my error message (cannot be 0) it never showed up. until I made some URI Entrys for my SIP dids.

I noticed that indeed but then on an expansion unit.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Have not had the "pleasure" of programming a server edition yet but it looks like that setting is only for SIP trunks that the Server provides not for in/out SIP lines

Maximum SIP Sessions: Default = 0. Range = 0 – 256. Release 8.1+
This field is shown for IP Office Server Edition systems. The Maximum SIP Sessions setting determines the number of SIP Trunk Channel licenses reserved for concurrent sessions on any SIP trunks provided by the server. Those licenses are reserved from the pool of SIP Trunk Channel licenses in the configuration of the IP Office Server Edition Primary Server.

that should not effect the URI's for your SIP lines but like I said, never programmed server edition.

yea tlpeter, i added an Expansion system from across the WAN and same thing happened.. I just maxed both sites out to 256 problem solved.

on the surface I am pleased with Server Edition so far. Glad Avaya is somewhat taking the "Aura" approach to things now..

my customer base has systems that are too small to warrant a server so far and the expense in buying one just for playing is just a no go but it seems that it will all go that route and seeing that SIP is coming on strong we will maybe within 5 years run on servers alone with a IP500V3 gateway or something they can dream up.
Scary and exhilarating at the same time.

yea Westi, it all depends if it is warranted. Ive been saving and merging and rebooting. reboot is like only a few seconds now as it is just a service restart at the server level. We are an HP partner as well and like the fact that its on HP hardware. going to get ILO running now as well.

I wish I had a proper HP server to play with but it is on my wish list and maybe Santa will have mercy with me and bring me one :)

forget channging it to 256.. keep it at the licenses count that you have.

You just need to set the amount of channels that you need as it reserves them to that IPO.
