IP Office SE 11.1.2 SMTP email alerts not working with Gmail

We are trying to set up a SE 11.1.2 to email SMTP alerts for 911 calls. Customer is using G-suite/Gmail. System looks like it connects to Gmail server but then just drops connection.
I thought it was account but if use same account /credentials in the VM pro Email settings I get emails.
I have tried ports 25, 465, 587 but noting has worked. Customer has checked firewall rules and also made sure Less secure apps are enabled. here is the monitor trace I get when we test. What is different on the Ip Office email vs the VM Pro email? Some insight is appreciated.

I forgot to mention that we did upgrade them from 11.1.1 to see if it was a bug but it did not work after upgrade either.

 
Anyone have incite on this? I have opened ticket with Avaya but, not sure how long it will take.

Why would the same account work on and expansion module IP500v2 but, not work on the Server Edition itself.

Does the server Edition use some other type of smtp to generate alarms? I would think it doesn't use VM pro since we don't use VM pro for VM to email.
Avaya is saying I may need to download certificates from google. I would understand that but I am not integrating VM pro with google.
Just trying to get SMTP alerts through email

It destroys the connection right after STARTTLSI I see the TLS error but not sure how that plays into this. and why doesn't the IP500 have same issue?
