I just installed both units one week ago. The customer had some complaints of messages being choppy. Customer had a 100 base basic netgear switch and the vm pro server running server 2012r2 with gigabit nic card. I did some research on this great site and found a thread about link speeds. Customer purchased second basic netgear gigabit switch and plugged into their fortigate firewall. I moved the server over to the gogabit switch and everything came back up as I tested all call flows. The next morning they called and said voicemail was down. I tried everything that I could think of and voicemail would not come back up. If I tried to access vm from showed voicemail not running. If I opened vm pro client and log in, it showed the phone system IP and I could open users and groups. I reset securities and set them back. I eventually re-installed vm pro pro and still would not come back up. I read on this site about duplicate mac addresses. Anyone think that this is my issue? I could not get a hold of customers IT to check this.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I forgot to mention that vmpro worked up to the point of the network switch add. I did plug my laptop into new switch to confirm ip address was same range. I could get to manager and phone system and ping vm pro server through new switch.

Are you sure you...
1) didn't accidentally give the switch same IP addr as the VMPro server?
2) didn't put a static IP on the server that is in the DHCP pool?

(try disconnecting the VMPro network cable and then ping it again. If you still get responses, there's your answer)

Kind regards

Gunnar

If VMPro PC is dedicated, plug it into IPO WAN port, removing customer network from the mix.

Is the IPO and VMPro both connected to the new switch? Might be something in the fire wall..
