This is insane
I am making my way around the new PLDS Licensing and Sold To location database, etc.

I can get a LAC registered against a serial number and MAC Address of IP Office. Once you use the LAC it is no longer needed so we don't keep them.

What i cant figure out to do is where can i go in the new system and put in a dongle number or serial number and get the licenses assigned. The only way to find it is to enter LAC numbers? Who keeps those and more importantly had do you keep them straight? You try to find a customer by name and that doesn't work at all.

When using ADI this was very simple. It was really good if you were asked to take over form another vendor. just put in the serial number and you were good.

There has to be a way to do this. If not someone really missed the boat on this.

This is been a typical practice in the enterprise space with the Definity class PBX/Aura Software PBX systems especially in the PLDS and "Sold to"/site-specific-literally-to-the-actual-address accounts .

I am wondering if they botched this process and you're one of the suckers.

Hopefully someone else can help.

I keep the LACs (stored under each customers folder) as it's the easiest way to get to a customers licenses in PLDS.
If you have a CRM it would be easy to store that information there.

The other way is to search per company, but for that to work it requires the customers to be registered as sold by the same LinkID as you account.
Also you can only upgrade a customer through PLDS is you're the "owner" of that customer.

If you aren't you can request to get ownership of a customer through Avaya Site and the customer will need to approve this.

Thank you Janni78

You have confirmed my fear. I don't think there is a way to get the licenses using the dongle number which is very unfrotunate.

indeed lots of ways to find customer records under PLDS

One thin that is not clear is that the % character can be used as a wild card so if you are looking for "Company Name" yo can search on "Company%" & should be given a list

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I agree on that is sucks big time.
The best way to find it is by using the LAC code period.
It is a stupid system but that is common with Avaya.
I wonder who is the brain behind this stupid systems.
They should hire people who are not familiar with there own systems and let them go through it.
I bet they can't find anything.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

PLDS seems to be a 3rd party product, HP used the same for ILO licensing last time I tried to get that activated.
