IP Office Manager crashes on launch with error window "Manager has stopped working"

I am using Manager 8.1. Recently Manager started crashing with the error window "Manager has stopped working". I have downloaded and re-installed the latest version of 8.1 from

http://www.ipofficeinfo.com/

but this has not resolved the error. I can open and use System Status without an error. Any ideas?
