Anybody have this so called manual?

Cannot find it anywhere.

I am looking for the location of the Message button on the 54xx sets.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I found the document finally. It is located under the "PDF Files" under the 3.0 IPO documentation.

But where can I find the button location to Manager Programming fields?

e.g.

The Tab in the User Form - DigitalTelephony (formerly Button Programming)
1 - Appearance
2 - Appearance
etc.

Search for Button Mapping. Beware that the button mapping for the Transtalk in 3.0 is incorrectly stated. Buttons 1-4 and 8-11 do not work. Only buttons 1 and 2 and 8 and 9 work.

Any ideas on the Message button? Or is it harcoded to the phone's bin file?

The red lens at the top of the phone is the message waiting indicator. Is that what you are asking?

This is from the 5410 users guide.

2. Message lamp - Lit when the user has voicemail messages. Can also be set to
flash when the phone is ringing.
3. Previous/Next Page - Move through the different pages of the call
handling, speed dials and call log screens. Also used to move the cursor during
data entry.
4. Messages: Access the user's mailbox.

Perhaps I am unclear on the question. Can you rephrase it.

Yeah. I am sorry.

What I am looking to do is re-program the Messages button itself.

right now what it does is dial *17 respectively. I want to re-program it to automatically enter the user's extension and voicemail code.

So if you were to program a DSS button with VoicemailCollect and press it, it will bypass the "welcome to IP Office, please enter extension and pound sign" and go directly into voicemail.

Hmmm. As far as I know, you can not reprogram a hard button. However what you desire can be programmed via softbutton.

If you are aware of that then your question becomes one of only trying to see if a hardbutton can be reprogrammed on a 54xx set.

Yeah I thought so. Already tried. The only way I was able to do it was to modify the bin file is our test environment.

if you dont want to be prompted for extn & password when retrieving VMail try switching IPO to IP Office mode & making sure that V<Extn> is set in source numbers

If in intuity mode on vmpro also make sure you point the default collect start point to getmail so you don't have to enter the password
