Hi,

We have a request that i cant quite work out how to achieve.

We have a customer that has an alerting beacon attached to a standalone analogue phone line.

They dial the analogue number to activate the beacon which it does so all well and good.

They have asked if there is a way they can activate the beacon and have it stay on for a preset amount of time but without staying on the phone and then having to hang up to stop the beacon flashing.

I've setup a dummy SIP ddi to go into VM Pro on their IPO setup. The module dials a virtual extension which has call forwarding to the beacons phone number. all good you dial the SIP DDI and it forwards out to the beacon.

How can we allow the caller to hang up after dialling the dummy number and let the IPO dial the beacon for 2-3 minutes then disconnect.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

It is going to be extremly dificuylt if not impossible to get a working & reliable solution using just IP Office configuration.

you probably need to get the beacon modified to remain on for a fixed length of time after it is triggered (should not be too dificult even for the most basic electronic engineer to hack something together, depending on the circuitry of the beacon even something as simple as a 555 timer could suffice)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
