Greetings all,

I have a issue I'm wondering if anyone has come across before. We have a Cisco CallManager that we have built H.323 trunks to and that passes through the IP Office for outbound dialtone. Here's the issue:

When an Avaya phone calls a Cisco phone, Caller ID and Name are presented on on the Cisco side.

When a Cisco phone calls an Avaya phone the extension number is displayed but no caller name (shows up as External.. This would be nice to correct but not critical).

The problem that does however plague us is when the Cisco phone calls an outside number which is trunked through the avaya, the main number shows up.. I did a trace and looked at the L3 messages and it appears the IP Office isn't passing along the calling number information to the Carrier - any idea why?

As always, any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks!

You could try the following:
In the config of the H.323 trunk in IP Office in the shortcodes tab add a shortcode, something like this:
SC = 0N or 9N or what access code is send from Cisco to ipo, if there is no access code then create one in Cisco
TN = NSS were N is the number to be dialled on the external line and SS will pass the CLI from Cisco to the outgoing line of the ipo
Action = Dial dial the number
Line ID = 0 or whatever line is used for outgoing calls from the IPO
