Greetings. We just switch from Nortel CS1000. We have a bunch of Cannon Image runners for Copy faxing etc. Right now, we have noticed that all of them that we've ran into, are not sending faxes, but receiving. Regular stand alone fax machines seem to be doing fine. I have played with the analog toggle switchs where is says standard phone, fax machine. etc. I did not try each one. Just standard line fax and IVR. IVR fixed our code blue problems.

The first simple diagnostic would be to plug in a standard analog phone into one of the fax ports and make a call. My suspicion would be that different call routing has been applied to the fax machines, maybe not requiring a dial 9 prefix like other extensions, or that the fax machines are adding the prefix themseleves when it isn't needed, something like that. Then its down to looking in the config for anything different for the fax machines from other extensions and watching an outgoing fax call in SSA or System Monitor to see where it fails.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

We have dial tone on the line. Sorry for not saying that. We are able to make regular phone calls.

Then its probably down to configuration details or a good trace.

What are the external lines being used? Are incoming fax calls only arriving on specific lines? Are those same lines being used for the outgoing faxes?

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
