IP Office 6.0 - No Caller ID for External Calls?

Hi,

I recently inherited an office that is using IP Office 6.0. I know it is pretty old at this point, but one of the major things they are requesting is caller ID for incoming calls. Caller ID works when calling internally, extension to extension, but if I were to call in to the office using my cell phone, no caller ID is displayed. I am not sure where I should be looking within IP Office Manager to change this setting, or if it is a provider issue.

Thank you for any help with this, and please let me know if more information is needed.

What trunks do they have?

The IP Office cannot block caller ID incoming (we tried) and so that means shekloom is on the right track as it is most likely your lines not sending caller ID or with analog lines if the lines are setup as lines without caller ID the auto attendant picks up before the information is received.

The site uses Analogue Trunk Lines. Verizon is the provider of the lines.

I am not on site there at the moment, but I am planning plugging in a cordless phone (before the IP Office)and dialing the number direct to see if the cordless phone receives a Caller ID. If the phone receives a Caller ID, I have to believe there is a setting within IP Office that needs to be changed.

I hope I gave the right information regarding the lines. Let me know if you need any additional information and thank you again for your help.

Go to Line > Analogue Line > Analogue Option and make sure Trunk Type is ICLID. That's all you can do, if you're still not getting CLID then contact the carrier.

Here is what each line has for settings. Loop Start ICLID is the trunk type for each line.

Trunk to Trunk Connect is active on each line too because they move out of this building in the summer and into another building and that allows for me to forward calls from this system to the system in the other building while still using the original phone number of the building they move out of during the summer.

Thank you for your help

When you call in on one of the trunks if it rings right away you know that CLID is not enabled by the carrier. If CLID is enabled it will take about 1 1/2 rings on the caller side before ringing at the phone system trunks.

The lines are already set for ICLID. They are going to get the delay either way from the IPO.

Yes! Thanks budbyrd! I've been working remote for too long. I miss those days in the field sometimes.
