I am trying to use the Bogen PCM 2000 with an analog station port off of the IP500. I have my station port set as paging speaker and I created a user with the for the extension and placed the user in a hunt group by itself. Then I created a short code to dial the hunt group. If I dial the short code I get number busy. If I dial the hunt group number I get ringing and if I dial the analog extension number I get call rejected. Has anyone ever gotten this to work? There are no analog trunk ports available to me at this time.

You can try making your short code either dial page or dial EXT. You may also want to power cycle the IPO with the bogen plugged in.

Ok here's the skinny on paging from an analog station port using the Bogen PCM 2000 system. First of all the set up. I'm using the IP500 Control unit with release 5.0 software (remember this cause its important) a digital station 30 and an 8 port analog module. If your IP Office software release is 4.0 or greater you must program your station port as an IVR port not paging speaker (see avaya knowledge base tech-tip #197) and program your short code feature as dial extn not dial paging. Do a soft reboot and then a hard reboot with the PCM2000 modules connected to the system.

Once the system is rebooted plug an analog phone into the station port. You should be able to dial the extension and answer the call. If you cannot answer the call from the analog phone there is something wrong with your station port and you need to program another one.

If you can answer with the analog phone plug the PCM2000 back into the port and dial the extension again. You will hear the DTMF tones of the short code and then your paging confirmation tone. [thumbsup2] If you don't get the tone the most likely reason is a defective TIM (Telephone Interface Module) from Bogen. :-(
