Hello All,

I'm a long time Nortel guy now learning the IPO's so bare with me. I have a customer that is having a issue with their AA. The problem is when the greeting picks up you cannot dial through to anyones ext. number. The recording just keeps playing while your trying to enter your parties ext. It's as if it's not reconizing DTMF, I have tested this myself via landline and cell phone...no luck. The same thing is happening to me, so clearly the customer isn't happy right now. If anyone could point me towards some things to check in Manager I would greatly appreciate it. FYI the system has been rebooted several times. This IPO is running 4.2 software if that helps.

When I did this, my auto attendant prompt 1 was set to dial any number, so my greeting actually says "if you know your party's extension, please dial 1 followed by the extension number." Did you have it set up before so it transferred to extensions with no prompting? BTW - my setup on this is action code 1 is set to dial by number, if that helps.

No prompts are or were in place. It just says if you know your parties ext. you may dial it now. To speak to John Smith press 2240 etc. If you press * followed by ext the same thing happens...NOTHING. No digits are taken when you press them, the recording just keeps playing. It's not a hit and miss thing either, it happens every single time. I was just wondering if there were some key items to look at on this system as I am still learning it.

Use sysmonitor , disable all in the filter and then enable the embedded vm options in the call filter.
Then you can see if it recognizes the dtmf.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much
