Hi Everyone sorry to bother your guy during this weekend plus holiday. I was annoying by one thing recently : our system randomly reboot by itself for few days and I got error message from SSA says:
abnormal termination

termination cause <DSI Excep> addr=0000001c d=5 pc=f03ecf64 stack=f03ecf1c f03ef844 f040be50 f0418a10 f03f85c0

don't know what codes stand for but really need some tips. thanks in advance.

Nobody knows what the codes stand for but Avaya developers.

run Monitor and see what happens just before the system reboots.
Upgrade to the latest revision of your release to save time because it may be an issue that has been solved with a later maintenance release.

I had weird stuff like a full embedded mailbox and the user trying to get his messages cause stuff like that that. Monitor showed it every time so it was relatively easy to pinpoint.

So, is that possible to resolve this issue by replacing CU and upgrading to higher version like R9.0?
if doing so, can one system with R9.0 talk to other system which come with different version like R8.1 ?
there is no way to get answer from AVAYA developer directly.

Upgrading may solve your issue.
Changing the control unit may solve your issue
Solving issues in your configuration may solve your issue
Nobody can say for sure what your problem is.
If you upgrade try the latest release of whatever you are right now first because it won't cost you anything.

We had a customer that had the same issues (random reboots with abnormal termination). Ours ended up being the control unit. As mentioned above by Westi, try upgrading to the latest version of whatever release you are at. Another option would be a format / re-create of the SD card. If that doesn't work, I'd try a new 500v2 cabinet as it's not terribly expensive and is a quick process.

I may try both replacing v2 CU and upgrading to latest version like R9.x or even R10.x but only thing I've been worrying about is that due to the schedule, we may not able to upgrade all of 5 systems to same newest version at same time, so if one of system is latest one like R9.x after upgrading and other systems with older version like R8.x will be able to talk each other?

They suggest keeping SCN 1 major release apart so if your systems are running R8.1 then you are ok running R9.0 on one. However, they are not necessarily suggesting upgrading past your current major release but instead upgrading to the highest service pack on your current release.

IE Lets say the system is running R8.0(18) try upgrading to R8.0(66) which is a free upgrade.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

that could be good choice. what is last release for R8.0 ? and where can find /download it?

also if you want to know what the problem is don't fix 2 things at the same time.
Either upgrade OR replace the control unit.

Otherwise you have a control unit you can't rely on being put into another site as replacement.

This is updates for this case: we upgrade the control unit to R8.0 (66) first but it didn't resolve that issue then we replaced control unit and SD card with new one also upgrade the system to R9.1. luckily this time the problem is gone. but I'm still curious about the meaning of this error code. no where to find what does stand for ?
