Hi Everyone,

I have been working on this for about 3 weeks and have read all kinds of post and still can't figure it out. I am trying to get a remote IP extension via a VPN tunnel to work.

IP500V2 running 7.0.

I have an Avaya 9640G that when connected directly to the LAN2 port (via a POE switch) it works great. Once I get it home and connected to the tunnel everything works great except for the voice audio. Nothing.

Here is my setup:
The tunnel is between two TP-Link TL-R600VPN routers. The tunnel connects successfully, I can ping between the two etc.
IP office 192.168.43.1 (It is still the DHCP server, the router DHCP is turned off)
Phone 192.168.14.83

I have experimented with a STUN server but it causes the IP Office to crash with a fatal error and restart.

Here is part of the console output:
118436mS H323Evt: RTP(END): 192.168.43.1/49152 192.168.14.83/49550 CODEC=G729A8K(6) PKTSZ=20 RFC2833=off AGE=8452 SENT=351 RECV=0 RTdelay=0 jitter=0 loss=0 remotejitter=0 remoteloss=0

I have turned Allow direct media path on and off, same result.

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to call to another Exts which they are registered on LAN1 or LAN2?

All of the other extensions are digital sets. I forgot to mention there is no dial tone, and it behaves the same incoming or outgoing. Other exts and trying to dial out. The call completes to both, just no audio.

So this is the 1st Voip phone in the system I believe. Do you have a VCM card/channels installed?

Try the following change:
SYSTEM: LAN2: tab VOIP :
Keepalives Scope RTP
Intitial keepalive : Enable

Check those firewalls for H323 ALG's disable them.

Thanks everyone.

icet500 - Yes, I have a VCM4 in slot 4. And you are correct, it is the first IP ext.

derfloh - I can set the tunnel working mode to either NAT or Route. When I use route the phone won't register and I lose the ability to ping between the networks. We may be on to something here.

kwing112000 - I have tried H323 ALG off and on and no change. With it off sometimes the phone won't register. Not sure if that means anything or not.

vfotineas - I tried those settings in combination with the other suggestions and no luck.

If anyone wants to really dive in, here is the wireshark capture from the working direct connection and the no voice VPN issue.

what do your IP routes look like on the ipo?

I can't say that I have ever used or changed any of the IP routes.

Lan1 is connected to the local network so I can administer it.
Lan2 is to the TP-Link Server lan port. The WAN of the TP-Link connects to the EA of the century link gateway.

derfloh, I was just thinking that, now I just need to figure out how to do it.
