Is it possible to control deskphone functions from Office Communicator 2007? Just dial, transfer, etc.

I've found the option for RCC and I think I need an RCC gateway. I've installed ETOS CallControlGateway but it doesn't 'see' the lines (which I Presume is extensions'). I've installed the Avaya TAPI driver but I'm unsure of the options.

Is there anyway to link OCS directly into IPO500? I'm guessing not but it's worth a go! If not, has anyone successfully configured a gateway between OCS and the IPO500?

Thanks

At this point not without a gateway (check out Dialogic or AudioCodes) that would convert the SIP in OCS to T1 in IP Office. This is because the IP Office (4.2 and earlier) can not accept wildcard URI and thus you would have to have a URI built for every single number that the MOC was trying to dial, obviously not an option.

With 5.0 you can use * as your URI which will allow OCS to pass any dial pattern to the IP Office and match the wildcard URI. So if you sent 918005551212 you could direct this to a URI in the SIP Line for validation of the INVITE then direct the Incoming Call Route to your 9N short code.

Can anyone confirm this feature in 5.0?

We are implementing OCS in house and connecting it via a t1 to our IP Office. We ran into this problem when we tried to have OCS dial out through the IP Office.

Roger, did you see this manual?
