I have on PRI line coming into an IP Office 403. I installed a second PRI card on the IP403 to route fax calls to and from a fax server via an Eicon Diva PRI Card. I have connected the Diva PRI card directly to the IP403 PRI Card.

Can anyone point me to where I can find information on how to configure the IP403 to route all specified DID numbers (For fax numbers) to be received via the 1st PRI card and routed throught the second and vice versa.

Thank you.

to route 2 the fax server set pri as og line group 1

create a short code similar to this

Short code 1234
number .
feature dial
line group ID1

create incomming call rotes to route the inbound fax numbers to 1234

the recieved DDI digits willbe sent to the fax server

reverse the process for outbound calls from the fax server.

Thank you IPGuru for your comments. I can see how this would work for incoming fax calls. However, I don't see how I would be able to set it up for out going fax calls. Would I have to setup a short code at the Line Group 1. Please advise.

You shouldn't program something special to dial out from the second pri. Just use the correct prefix ('0' or '9' or ...) on your faxserver and it should work.

I am not able to connect the second PRI card to the eicon Diva PRI Server card successfully. I have been told that I need to configure the second PRI card on the AVAYA IP Office 403 to behaive as a telco. Since the Diva PRI Server card is looking for a Telco signal. Please advise what settings I must set on the PRI card on the AVAYA IP Office in order for this card to emulate a TELCO PRI signal.
Thanks in advance. (The other possible solution is that I need a special type of cross over cable for PRI)

The IPO pri card is set to T interface, you willnot be able to change it to S (to emulate telco).

If supported by the eicon you can reconfigure for Qsig operation

I've not connected IPO PRI interface to a DIVA card, but in my experience any kind of back-to-back DS1 connection requires pins 1/2 and 4/6 to be crossed... including IPO to Magix.

I've never done it but if your Eicon card is revision 2.0 you should be able to configure the Eicon as NT interface and then then configure the PRI on the IPO like a normal one, as you would with a PRI from you telco provider.

Of course I do, Mike, thanks for catching that typo.

Thank you everyone for your input on this matter. I was using a regular straight cat5e cable and the Diva Card had a red light. When I created a cross-cable with 1/2 and 4/5 the card light turned to orange and I am now receiving sync errors.

I have tried everything to my knowledge. If anyone out there has any knowledge on how to send DID's from the IP office to this eIcon Diva Server T1/PRI card, I would great appreciated. Thank you.

First check the page on this url and make sure you eicon card is configured for NT mode
Configure the PRI in the IPO just like you would configure a 'normal' one.

For the DDI do the following:
Create an incoming call route where you put in the DDI you want to use for your fax server and leave the destination empty. Then create a system shortcode with the DDI numer as shortcode, put '.' as telephone number, the group of the PRI line going to your fax server and as function 'Dial'. Repeat this for more DDI's.

I have used this more than once and it works fine (although it was on E1 cards).
