I have a new IP Ofc Partner Version system and I'm being told [ by suppliers ] that the Voice Mail does not allow a station user to retrieve messages left in his mailbox from another station.
For example, Px 17 wants go into Voice Mail and retrive messages left in the mailbox of Px 10..All my users have passwords assigned.
In the IP OFFICE PARTNER VERSION USERS GUIDE..[ Accessing Your Mailbox ] Section 5.1 page 39 the following is written..

" Your system Administrator can also configure other methods of access to your mailbox from other telephones and access to hunt groups"

I know I can go out of the system and then back in via the Auto Att but that is not acceptable.

Is there anyone out there that knows how to do it..I have searched all documents but no luck.

Press Intercom 777, and follow the prompts, assuming you have set passwords on the mailboxes.

TTT..I have tried that...No luck..I'm using 1416 sets but that should not make any difference..After dialing 777, I get all of the prompts but nothing asking for a extension number or prompting me to enter a extension number...
All of my mailbox's are set up with different passwords.
I'm calling VM from Px 17 and when it answers me I put in the password for Px 10...dead silence..When I put in the password for Px 17 while at Px 17 naturally it works fine.
Hmmm..Not good if one cannot retrive messages from another extension like the Partner messaging system..What do you think?

Can you list the prompts in the order that you hear them after dialing Intercom 777? Usually the system asks for the desired extension number right off the bat.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

OK..This is what happens..Intercom >>> dial >>>777

The VM System replies " Please enter access code" right away..[ NO MENTION of " Please enter extension number" etc,]

I then enter a 4 gigit code.If there are messages in the box I can listen to them and do the usual , save, repeat, delete, etc.
After that the system replies with the following prompts this is what I hear..In this order.
1.Play old messages press 1
2.save current message press 2
3.forward message press 6
4.repeat last message press 7
5.skip current message press 9
6. call back sender press **
7. Play saved messages press 2
8. edit greeting press 3
9.direct all to email press *01
10.send email press *02
11. turn off email press *03
12.change access code press *04
So as you can see there is no prompts to enter another mailbox or Px number..I would think it would prompt me to enter a Px number as soon as the VM system answers like other Partner Messaging systems..I can't believe that this option is not available in this system.
I"m Stumped!

This is how the IPO performs with embedded messaging. On the IPO you have to create a shortcode that allows you to try and log in for any ext. I am not sure how to do this on the partner yet. i havent played enough.

Kevin..Thanks for the reply..I searched the IP Office site for a similiar question like mine thinking some info in that site might lead me to a answer... You are correct, short codes are used for this purpose in the IP Ofc.

But in the Partner version the only place that I find to set up a short code is within the Auto Attnd...
I can't be the first person to come accross this problem.
Could it be true that the Voice mail system in the IP Ofc Partner version does not have this feature?

Samhassan..Problem solved...THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!
You are part of what makes this forum so great..I will pass this info on to others who said it could not be done....
A star for you !
