I have multiple systems at home.
In the past, I have purchased static IP's for each.
That keeps getting more expensive, as I add more systems.
At this point, I've decided to change direction.
I want to setup my own internal router / proxy server / firewall / DHCP server, etc...
I think I want to use my RedHat box as the default router, and funnel all of my other systems through it.
I have a good idea of how to do this in theory, but no real experience with it.
I've installed 2 100BT lan cards in my RedHat server.
One card is configured with an external IP address, that is known to my ISP, and DNS.
The other card, should be setup with an internal IP address, that my other systems can talk to, and route through...
Is this correct? (As a start)...
Now, for routing purposes, on a RedHat 7.1 system, what files do I need to modify?
Firewall?
IP Masquerading?
Default Router?
DHCP Server?
What entries, in each file, should I modify, or add?
I can probably figure this all out, if I just know where to look... Especially if there are example, or default entries already in these configuration files...
Pointing me to specific documentation would also help.
Thanks in advance,
Joe F.
