Hi there,
I have an ipLDK100 with a 2 rack configuration with a MPBN running GS90P-C.9Cb. Intermittently, analog extensions on the CSLIBE cards cannot dial. They get dialtone, but the dialing has no effect. After hanging up and retrying a few times, dialling resumes working. I suspect a DTRU to be malfunctioning somewhere. When I check the DTMF receiver allocation, I get the following:

No Slot BoardName
1 . MPB
2 . MPB
3 1 DSIB
4 1 DSIB
5 2 CSLIBE
6 2 CSLIBE
7 2 CSLIBE
8 2 CSLIBE
9 3 CSLIBE
10 3 CSLIBE
11 3 CSLIBE
12 3 CSLIBE
13 7 CSLIBE
14 7 CSLIBE
15 7 CSLIBE
16 7 CSLIBE

Bringing the total DTMF receivers to 16.
When I run the DTRU test, I get the following:

DTMF Rcvr13 Failed..
DTMF Rcvr14 Failed..
DTMF Rcvr15 Failed..
DTMF Rcvr16 Failed..

I have since replaced the CSLIBE card in slot 7 with an identical card (as the DTRU's are built in to the card), but the problem remains exactly the same. I have since exchanged all three of the CSLIBE cards, but again, the faults remain the same. I wonder if someone has an idea what else could cause this issue other than hopefully not the MPBN card?

Many thanks!
Vito

Hi VIto,
Somewhere in the back of my brain I recall someone saying that the cards borrow DTMF resources from other cards such as the DSIBs perhaps there is a duff one on those that is causing the problem.

Mark

Hi there Mark,
Yes indeed, the cards do share the DTMF resources. At first, looking at how the system directly faulted DTRU 13 to 16 on card 7, I immediately assumed it to be just that card - which I then replaced. After realising it made no difference I functionally replaced all three of the CSLIBE cards with new stock I had and also replaced the DTRU daughter card on the DSIB, but it still made no difference. This seems like voodoo. I'm tending more and more to assume the MPBN card is defective but at this stage I'm still scratching for a spare about.

I have had this issue before it was backplane (slot was faulty) , essentially what i ended up doing was pulling all the cards except the MPB x1 DSIB , and x1 SLIB , defaulted the kit and ensured the DSIB was in slot 1 and the SLOB in slot 2 , when i had proved no issue with that config i continued to , first move the cards down the kit to try and identify the faulty slot , when and if that does not replicate the fault i started addding cards to the system until it came back , this then identified the issue as bad backplane.

Its also worth as an initial test to just wipe the memory and see if the issue occurs in a default setting (i think it will in your case still have the issue , but defaulting is worth a try as long as you have a back up obviously)

ACSS (UC/SBCE/SM/SME)

Not that they mean a thing anymore , get a brain dump pass the test crash the system.
