I currently have a situation where I manage the ePO server for a large scale network with thousands of clients. As our rollout is on going, we contstantly have new servers and WS joining the network but they all seem to appear in lost and found and are not going into the groups that I have specified for them, We have around 45 areas and as you can imagine, I am having to cut and paste every WS and Server from the lost and found group into the correct group because of the fact that the IP grouping does not sem to be working. I use the IP subnet range rather than the IP subnet mask, should I be using teh subnet mask? And can anyone think of a a quick way of removing and re-joining the servers so that they appear in the correct group, will I have to remove the agent on every server and then reinstall?

Any ideas or help will be much appreciated

Cheers

Do an IP sort from the directory level.

I have all IP address ranges specified at the directory level, and they are filtered through so that only one applies t oeach area

Even so, sometimes it does NOT fall to the correct group IF you have groups with conflicting IP address ranges. An IP sort will help you out. AVChap

All Ip integrity checks comeback with NO errors, What I am really concerned about is getting the objects that are already in my directory structure (they all seem to be scattered about everywhere) into the correct groups without having to uninstall and reinstall the agents again.

Any ideas???

The IP sorting does not require an uninstall of the agent. It simply reorganizes the directory tree. AVChap
