I am trying to set up ip forwading in windows 2000 server, in my machine i have two 10/100 network cards. What I am trying to do is set up a viruswall server, I have done what microsoft say to do in the registery with the iprouting setting to 1, but when I put to machines between the server it still does not work. does anyone have any further help. many thanks

At the risk of asking the bleeding obvious, you did test by pinging using the IP address and not just the name?

Sorry, if that sounds basic. It's just that you don't state what exactly you have done or how you tested.

if you want to forward packets from one network to other, you use routing utility in windows2000 server. with this you can forward packet from one network to other.why going for registry modifications

You may need a static route

Go to a command prompt and look at the route table

>route print
