We have option 11 rls 4 with 8 ip lisince without media card & sign. server. need help if possible how to configure it at least 1 IP phone t6o be active. from other side i want to connect OTM to the system , can i connect directly my PC to the Eathernet- transeiver. if any can help how to do it in steps i will be very thankfull.

regards

you can build the IP phone, but without a media card or sig server, that phone will never come up. at a min, you'll need a media card with IPL software on it.

For the OTM, why would you want to connect directly? I would suggest setting the switch up with the IP/subnet/Gateway. Then you can have multiple administrators in the switch at the same time, and backups are way faster. Even with OTM.....

just i need OTM FOR corp. directory , so if i want to connect the PC direc to eathernet-transeaver : what to use straight or crossover cable & could u pls. direct me what overlay or how to program for example 192.168.10.20 on the system and on the PC.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

you need otm to configure the media cards, or you can setup the sig server and use EM to do corporate directory and for your ip phones

Get an IP/subnet mask/Gateway. Go to LD 117 and build;

NEW HOST hostname IPaddress
NEW ROUTE networkIP gateway IP
Change the mask

LD 137 enl elnk (elink)

You also need the transceiver and cable NT DK27AA which plugs into J1 on the backplane of the PBX. The transceiver plugs into the NT cable. Newer processors, like the 81c have an ethernet port.

Make sure you ENL (enable) your host and route, and 'chg elnk active HOSTNAME'. Make sure you 'update dbs' in LD 117.

Yes Eddie , I did all what you mensioned above, the system ip is 192.168.10.20 , SM IS 255.255.255.0 ,I didn`t program gateway cuase no connection to external customer and no ip set . as i said befor need it for OTM (corporate ). the PC IP is 192.168.10.30. pinging the system is ok ( no problem ).also i configure the OTM .
power/tx & link/rcv grenn light on transeiver.

but when traying to retrieve the data from the system get nothing & get this message from log/view:

starting CPND NAME RETRIEVEL ON 4/27/2007 AT 14:05:02
Login Name : atef Task ID :117769706
Connection to switch could not be established.

any explanation pls.
note : the system ( OPT. 11 )username : admin
PASS. : 1234 (entered in otm customer properties )

the PC adminstrator USER IS: atef
PASS. : 1211 In wich the OTM logged by.

thanks in advance

So are you trying to access the switch with OTM terminal? Or are you trying CLI?

Oops. I see you are using OTM. Sorry about that. I don't use OTM, I cannot offer up any advise on this. If you use CLI, you can use to RLOGIN protocol and connect over the network. Can you ping the PBX?

What do you see on the Switch terminal when you try to connect - any errors like MAT004?

Have you been able to do any retreives?

OTM isn't going to work unless the userid is set to allow MAT access. Also need at least one (two recommended) PTY's.

I think atbw3 might in a little too deep and should go to a vendor. Pay the money and watch VERRRY closely for future reference.

Thanks alot for all of you, the OTM works now, it`s communicate with the system , I`VE just added the PTY`S .
there is no need to configure media card or sig.server if only have OTM.

You'll still need a Media Card (with IP Line) in order to get any IP Phone to work. It provides the signaling to the IP Phone as well as IP<->TDM conversion for connecting to any analog/digital lines/trunks.

Grab a copy of the IP Line NTP and the IP Phones NTP.

This is for EddieDuece:
I was reading the replys and your from 4/27/07 14:27 This is what I'm having problems with. I don't have or need the OTM. I did the thing you said to do(but ony 1 PTY).
I'm using Putty Rlogin, and using a user id of CPSID1110.
It asks for a pwd. I only want to do CLI.

Thanks for you other good info.

Not sure if I am following you here but CPSID is the username, so you still need to enter the password. And this is for the CLI. I use ZOC from EmTech, with rlogin protocol. Might check that out. They have a free trial version.

Gfollett You should start your own post for this, but are you trying to login to the PBX and you don't have OTM? what are you using?

I can dial in over the modem usinf VT100 emulators no problem. We have 4 sites we upgraded to IP capable.
I'm trying to login over the IP to do ADMIN like the dialup, its quicker. I have done LD 117 asigned PTTY port, and using PUTTY (rlogin) to the IP address. From other things I have read I should be able to use CPSID1110 to access thethe PTTY port, but it asks for a PWD.
I do not have OTM. In looking over my other things it looks like the ADAN PTY has to be setup with OTM requirements, which I don't have.

Here is my config;
ADAN TTY 10
CTYP PTY
DNUM 10
PORT 0
DES ELAN_PORT_0
FLOW NO
USER MTC SCH BUG
XSM NO
TTYLOG 0
BANR NO

Make sure you are using rlogin protocol.

Thanks I'll check it an make corrections. Won't be any more today.
