Is there any way to disable the PC port on an IP Dterm. I have a customer that has a VOIP network and they are afraid that someone will just plug into the phone and start hacking into thier network. I was thinking TCP/UDP port blocking, or making access lists in the layer 2/3 devices. Any input is appreciated.

You can talk about us, but you can't talk without us.

Just heard a rumour this is to be released as a feature in an upcoming release of the firmware for the IP Dterms. PC port on or off via the admin menu in the set.

The IP Dterm supports VLAN tagging, so you should be able to send the phone and PC-port packets to different VLANs. Then you can connect the PC VLAN to a safe area away from the voice VLAN, or completely disallow it in your switch.
