Hi,
Having some licensing issues on our 3300 and our provider told us of the miracle that is "IP DEVICE ONLY"

For about 200 or so phones this will be perfect but I am testing.

My understanding (from google) is that an IP DEV Only phone is Locked and can only call the Attendant or 911.

Errr.. what is the Attendant number? I assumed it was 0 but that doesn't work.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Drew

I've never tried this so I'm just guessing here. Considering that any number can be assigned to the attendant and that those same numbers can be assigned to any other device, I would surmise that the key ingredient is the endpoint device type. i.e. Console.

Is 0 the console extension number or one of the LDN keys? My guess is 0 is something else like a speedial. If you have access to the 3300 look in the forms IP Consoles or Console Softkeys and try and dial one of those numbers from you IP Device.

sorry for the delay.
Yes.. for whatever reason our attendant number is 3402.

I can dial it in IP DEVICE ONLY mode.
We might put little stickers on the phones

thanks guys :)

Depending what 0 is maybe it could be changed to one of the LDN keys on the console so dialing 0 would work. If you can go into maintenance commands and type locate number 0 and see what 0 is.

Out of interest, have you got 0 setup as a speeddial entry pointing at a Console button number?

Yes, try setting a speeddial 0 to 3402

Yep.. speedcall number 0 goes to actual number 3402.
Don't think it likes system speed call.
No biggie.. at least we understand how it works :)

yeah,

Don't suppose you can configure a key on the logged out station to dial 3402?

Think the system knows what the attendant number is so whatever it is can be dialed. The speed dial of 0 to 43402 will not work becuase well its a speed dial. So if you need to dial 0 then it has to be a key on the console.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Dialing anything except Operator, emergency number and HD login code will be barred. Going through the Speeddail list in not allowed, but will be changed in 6.0SP1 release is in the end of may.

FYI A device only can access any ARS route labelled as Emergency

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
