I'm having an issue my customer is using 3725 handsets with Dect RBS V2 Compact Base station on IP office
8.1 version 44. The phones continually lose their subscription any ideas ? Would a software upgrade to 73
help.

Rob,

Are any of your Hunt Groups configured as Collective with more than 4 users?
If so, that is the reason for it.

If more than 4 channels are presented for the same call to a Compact Base, one or more phones that are connected to that specific base station will loose their registration.

Doesn't happen on regular base station, even if they get in to congestion.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Jamie, you think they would admit that kind of flaw in the doc's?

I have a customer that had this s*it going on for a year, and it cost me a good week of investigation to narrow it down to the one IPBS(c) in the lunch room.

Swapped to a regular IPBS, problem solved. Guess who had to pay the price difference ...

Kind regards

Gunnar

I have seen this issue too but the phones did not unregister but did not ring anymore.
You needed to turn it off and on to get it working again.
Those compact basestations are nice but also troublesome.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks for the star!

Kind regards

I might add that this was a provisioned setup with a mix of regular and compact base stations.
When the compact congests, one or more phones will display "searching", then you have to go through the registration process on the phone.

Peter, I've never seen them reregister by restarting, but that might be what happens on an unprovisioned system?

Kind regards

They gave a notification something like please wait.
You could make a call with it but could not be called.

Yeah, but was that provisioned or unprovisioned install?
I feel there is a difference in behaviour depending on the type of installation.

Kind regards

Unprovisioned.
I have done that once and it was a disaster.

Ok, then I think we have the answere to different behaviours.
In provisioned your phone loose it's registration
In unprovisioned you only have to restart.

All my Dect installs are provisioned, workes just fine, but I don't use the Compacts if there are more than 4 handsets.

Kind regards

Gunnar
