Hallo

Anybody know which non Avaya Dect telephones can I use in IP DECT? Any advantages and disadvantages of non Avaya Dect telephones?

Disadvantage is that you can not have the full options that the avaya ipdect do have

You can use any GAP compatible phone

Maybe you need to go with Siemens handset because they have Bluetooth and then you need to be able to convert IPUI to IPEI.

We have registered Kirk handsets to IP Dect and they work OK for most peoples needs i.e display incoming number and can transfer.

Also we didn't need to convert any codes, we just entered the kirks serial number and they registered no bother.

The siemens use IPIU and the ipdect use IMEI
So you need to convert it to use on ipdect

Use Avaya handsets, it works best without worries.
Any other phone may result in vague complaints.

I agree, we only did it as the customer had loads lying around so we gave it a go, impressed the customer too so that was a bonus.

I know, we have do the same but we always tell we can not fully support the phones and during time they replaced handsets just because of some strange problems with handover and calls cutting off.

Intrigant - I agree with you. But if the customer demands some features that 3701 and 3711 does not have. ie handsets that are classified as IP64 or ATEX or maybe has Bluetooth, then it is better to get the deal with IPO / IP Dect and other handsets then missing the entire deal.

I think that Avaya have to less options with their handsets.

Features that the 3701 or 3711 do not have will not work
The only features that (beside basic) will work are wi9th those
The rest will only have basic stuff
Why do you need bluetooth on a dect phone anyway ?

Because they will like to have a wireless headset to the Dect

So they want a dect phone and then also a headset ?
The 37xx can do that only not with bluetooth
It is about time they can impant the simcard behind your ear so you do not need a phone :)

I am also waiting for that feature :)
In my part of the world it is common that a User only have an IP dect and that is why they need cordless headset.
