I have a customer with a slightly atypical network setup. They segmented the voice traffic and their data traffic on two completely different networks. Its never been a big deal until now. Now, we need to add some Avaya 1X Workspace softphones and route them through the data network and VPN. The problem is the VPN is using the same subnet as the default remote manager IP of 192.168.99.0
when we try to remove the remote manager setup from the IP route it keeps coming back. Can I get rid of this completely and how? The customer does not want to completely redo their VPN data network.
LAN1 is used to connect all Avaya devices and another SCN switch, and there is no IP routing assigned to LAN1 because all voice is equipment and IP phone reside on the same subnet regardless of location.
We want to use LAN2 to facilitate the Workspace softphones, and point LAN2 to the VPN gateway, but hence the IP conflict. We want to do it this way so when the employees connect to the data VPN from their laptops, their Workspace softphones will sync with the IP Office control unit.
Does this sound like it will work, or??
I hope I am making sense here? Please advise if you need more information.
