If work does not have a DHCP server you can also have a hard coded IP set in the alternate configuration. That way if it cannot get an IP through DHCP it will assign the IP you hard coded in that tab. When they get home DHCP gives them an IP .
Yeah, can't download anything since I work at a national laboratory. We have the ability to use both DHCP and Static, but customer's using a fiber card; must use a static IP. I'm going to try using DHCP in the general and static ip on the alternate. I'll let you know the results...thanks!
