IP Changed - no longer recieving mail from webhost

We have our website hosted through an outside company.(Internal domain is .local and company website is .com) I updated to the new IP address in the DNS management. They have the MX record set to point back to our server, however no e-mails are coming from that IP address (the IP the webhost provided us). Is there something else that needs to be done?

Have you changed your firewall to allow smtp traffic to the new IP address?
