IP Blocking

Hi,

Hopefully I am in the right section.

I live and work in Tenerife, for some reason it seems that my IP address is blocked from viewing my own website here but I know that my websites can be seen from other parts of the world with no trouble at all.

Is there anyway that I can check to see if my IP (83.42.25.92) has been blocked from certain countries? And how can I get it unblocked as I think someone has been malicious in doing this?

Never ever post your real IP in a public forum. I hope you're prepared for the tsunami of attacks you're about to receive...

It is extraordinarily unlikely that a single IP would be blocked from an entire country. It is possible that your IP (or the block of IPs that your ISP uses) has made it onto the blacklists. Talk to your ISP about this.

If your web site host is on the same network, it's more likely that your router or gateway is not doing loopback name resolution properly.

It's not a big deal to post a public IP address in a forum. A public IP address is public. It's accessible to anyone that can put those combinations of numbers together. Public IP addresses are being scanned by bots constantly. I doubt if there's any public IP address that does not already get scanned for something.

True, IPs are anonymously scanned all the time. But those scans don't know who owns that address. If you get some web looney who's decided to harass you, you've just given them an invitation to dinner.

I have been the recipient of such harrassment. My advice comes from experience.
