I want to use a port on a system but only make it available on an internal LAN. This is a network application that shouldn't appear when someone does a port scan. Is it possible to occupy a port, so that it appears in an internal LAN instead of the entire internet?

That's the purpose of a firewall. Your application probably wouldn't appear on the internet by default. Check with your network administrator to make certain. Rick Sprague
