I've either been hacked or attacked by a super virus cause my win2k network place is blank and I can't look at or change my IP address

(also I can't cut and paste files or text in word or in IE, and I can't see the system files and I can't install windows update patches --- I'm running a KEY application that prevents me from formatting my disk until I finish my MIGRATION)

--- is there another place for me to change my IP address, Subnet mask, gateway and DNS -- like in the registry or some other place -- cause I have to move to another building that requires a new IP Address, Subnet mask and gateway.

(I've tried to run a win2k update off the win2k CD, I've applied Norton, a2, stinger and a number of other virus fix tools)

What should I do?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you all.

Hello,

It is possible to change your network settings through the registry. Take a look at the entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> Tcpip -> Interfaces.

Each interface has its own settings, including IP address.

Good luck,
Jason Deckard
