I have a fixed IP address (cable). However I get 2 different IP's when I check it. winipcfg reports one. Various web sites that tell you your IP report another. I think the winipcfg is correct. I also think the web reported one is my old IP before the cable company changed it 2 weeks ago. Why is this happenning?

You can have a different IP address for each network adapter (virtual or not) do you have a network card, dial-up adapter or does the cable modem create it's own virtual network card? Basically when you run winipcfg use the drop down box to see how many different adapters you have. and check the reports on each one.

Have ethernet card. Cable modem has the IP. Never had this problem(?) before cable company changed IP. There is no firewall or proxy server. I don't think this is causing any issues on my system, just strange.
