Hello,

Is there a way of getting the IP address of my conncetion, or of the system though the Teradata system tables?

They have given us a new system and it has knocked out my host file...

Thanks in advance,

Liam1.

Hi,
I don't understand the question.

To logon on to Teradata to query the system tables to get the IP address, you must already have the IP address in your hand or obtained it via DNS or you wouldn't have been able to logon on.

go to a command prompt and type

ping -a boxcop1

//where box is the name of the system you logon to from BTEQ.

and the address will be displayed.
