Each computer has its own IP address, correct? I have someone who has posted 3 messages to a Yahoo forum. When you "view the source" and look at the originating IP for each of the 3, they are different. He signs on via AOL. All my posts have the same IP address. Someone is posting inappropriate information on the forum. We think a person is using an alias. We have found a match with the originating IP between the alias name and another sign on name of whom we know. Are these DEFINETLY the same person or at least computer?

Thanks
David

Just because each machine is assigned an IP address when using DHCP, or even if they have a statically assigned address means little. Anyone can connect to most services via a proxy server so if the user is on a proxy, his address is not going to be the same as the one assigned to him/her.
