Hi guys I have 2 domains and I need some users to get from

one to another as group trust relationship are they going to keep the same native IP addresses or I have to provide them with new IP addresses and if so how can I a chieve this without DHCP server .Thanks guys

any idea guys can I give them static IP addresses or they going to keep them IP addresses

If the systems on both domains are on same physical network you don't have to do much. It doesn't matter if they use static or dynamic IP addressing. If you can see both domains in entire network icon of the Network N'hood, you just have to establish Trust Relationship and that's all.

When both of the domains are in different subnets, I would set up WINS on both domains, and make the PDC also point to the WINS server in the other domain
Then, after a reboot, you will be able to set up the trust...

(or you could work with LMHOSTS file on both PDC's, then you don't need WINS to establish the trust) Peter Van Eeckhoutte

What do you mean by 'different network' ?
DO you mean : they are not on the same LAN, they are connected with some sort of leased line, ...

Or are they on the same LAN, but in a different IP subnet ? Peter Van Eeckhoutte

The cabling aspect is not important. What is important is the protocol - in this case TCP/IP, and the locations (LAN, WAN or dial-up).

If it's 2 subnets on the same LAN, no problem, as the other correspondents have indicated.

If it's 2 separate networks you'll need some kind of trust relationship and possibly name resolution.

WINS will probably not suffice - I'd guess you're running Novell on your token ring network?

You will probably have a DNS server somewhere - make sure its reverse lookup tables include the NT servers. Check the Novell Gateway configuration (if you're using one).

Hope this helps
