IP address for Router Configuration

I need to know what the IP address is that I type in the browser to get to the management page for the router. I also need instructions on how to do these things once i get there:

1. select obtain ip automatically
2. set to PPPOE
3. enter in the userid and pwd that is provided by ISP

Any information on whether or not there is a default userid and pwd to get into the management page and also any links for assistance with troubleshooting the router would be helpful

Well my first advice to you would be that you include the model number of the router and be more detailed in your explanation, this is probably why I am the only one to post so far. If you provide the details that are privy I will attempt to help you out to the best of my ability.
