thread965-1619926
Above is the previous thread. I didn't see a final solution for this issue. I have the same issue with my Hicom 9006.6 I have 28 years experience on the 9006 platform and just ran across this same issue. I have never seen this one. I can't access root ufamos -d, LCWIN, or direct amo. Under UBA I can't access any lan settings. I have tried to use launchpad but will not connect as well. I have tried to reset up the dial up networking / PPP to browse to 192.0.2.5 and still no good. Any gurus out there with another possibility?

If you currently have no admin access to the switch at all you can try this:

Connect a serial cable from your PC to the RMX port - you may need a null modem adapter, it's been a while and I can't remember.

Connect using ProComm. Set your comm protocol to 4800 E 7 1. Terminal type must be TVI910, and you should have the TVI910.kbd file loaded off your scripts utility disk that comes with your media pack for the switch, and have that set as the keyboard file for the TVI910 protocol.

When you connect you should see a row of ############### across the screen. Press CTRL-T to login.

You will be in RMX now. This is like direct AMO but much more dangerous. command syntax is like dis-scsu... You cannot backspace if you make a typing error, just press enter and do it over or CTRL-T again (or is it CRRL-X) to log off and start over. Do not experiment with commands in there because you can wipe out big chunks of stuff if you type the wrong command.

You will probably be asked for a password to do much. The password is in your original post right before 9006.6 'cept all LC.

Be vewwy verry careful in there.... When I was told how to do this the tech said "Don't come crying to me if you trash your switch". That was 16 years ago....

You cannot access any unix commands from RMX, but this will let you do some basic adminitration like you could do from direct AMO otherwise.
