we had a new networking system put in a few months ago by that i mean path panels etc and cat 5 cabling.
we are connected to internet via bt broadband.
our network was set to autoconfiguration for IP addresses etc and has worked perfectly. UNTIL today. i tried to check someones lap top as they could not connect again to their home router. now i dont know if this is coincidence but sicne that 2 of our pcs now need to have the IP address added as a static number as the auto seems to ignore our range and opts for some other range.?
is this a quick fix ? i have uninstalled and checked and changed different settings all day but to no avail.
they can access the email server and internet .. but i do not know how long for as thier pcs are now set differently to the rest.

you mean you have DHCP server in your environment?

by saying you checked his/her laptop, what did you do exactly? Did you set a static IP on that laptop?
