Just installed an IP5550 onto the 33MX.

The software inists on looking for the first MX on 192.168.1.2 before then trying the site installed MX on 192.168.4.2.

Although it trys the right one on the second attemp, it doesnt tie up with the system.

If I edit the .cfg file within the Mitel folder and put 192.168.4.2 as the first MX, it then works.

BUT, Only untill a reboot, and then it looses it again.

Anyone seen this.

UK Technical says that they've seen it before and if I go in and out of the software 5+ times it will all of a sudden kick in and work......it hasnt.....:O(

Hi Tim,

Well i install 3300 in the UK and I had the exact same problem just 3 weeks ago and had Mitel UK totally baffled. after a host of tests and changes i just rebooted the system. The main change i did was with the cluster element ID's as they were all incorrect.

However if you have 2 IP subnets I am guessing you are clustering a couple of controllers or you have changed IP addresses on the controller. If you are clustering revise your Cluster element ID's and another rule of thumb would be to give your 5550IP console a static IP address if you havent already done so.

i also had the same prob in the uk but was on a 5.2 site with a flat network, first icp 134.199.0.1 second 134.199.0.3......couldnt get the 5550 to log on to the primary icp no matter what we did,the clients IT people re imaged the 3 pcs and then it worked straight off...regestry issue may be...?
Was is a clean instal...?

Turns out that ever time I was comming out of the console, it was reconfiguring the cfg file in the mitel folder, got to a point where it was deleting it????? <no, I dont know either>

I had to make it read only to everyone and it works, in any Windows XP roaming profile that logs on.

I must admit, somewhere along the lines I did reboot the 33mx so it could always be sorted.

Console is now in action so I dare not play with it for a abit.

If I get a chance, Ill try the suggestions.

Cheers Chaps
