Hi all.

We currently are using an Avaya IP 500 V2 and would like to setup multiple voicemails to catch all calls.

For example, we have 4 members of staff that rotate on call duty between them. We would like to be able to choose their personalised voicemail greeting from our handsets; either with the buttons or punching in a shortcode.

We had BT install this system 2 years ago and I was told that I could only use 2 voicemail boxes. So they setup two with a weekday evening voicemail and a weekend voicemail.

Is this possible? I have read on the internet that people use something called Voicemail Pro?

I have screen shotted the Admin software so you can sort of see how BT have set it up.

Thanks in advance!

That doesn't show much on how the system is setup more than it seems like you have embedded.

I would recommend getting in contact with a BP if you don't know where to start.

By looking at the screenshot it looks like you have 2 groups setup as mailboxes. Did they give a reason that you can only do 2? The answer is yes it is possible.

Voicemail pro requires a license and is more complex to setup then embedded.

They probably said there were two VM channels rather than you could only have 2 mailboxes.

I think Pepp77 nailed it. I came back to add to my post maybe they meant you get 2 voicemail channels and he beat me to it.

What are the voicemail channels? Is that how many customers (for example) can access the recordings at a given time?

I've had a look through the IP Admin but its to complex for me. I think we will hire someone to get us where we want to be.

At least I now know our system can do want we want!

Thanks all.

Voicemail channels/ports are how many simultaneous connections you can have to the voicemail on your system.

You can purchase additional voice mail channels as well through a BP
