All,

Can an IP 406 DS Control Unit, Version 4.1 (1201), be migrated off of a third party voicemail product by adding a 4 port voicemail pro license, AND without having to bring the control unit to a more current version of IPO?

You don't need a license for that.
Depending on the interface of the 3th party you need analog station ports set as vm ports or SIP extension ports, put them in a sequential ring group and set that group as the VM destination.
That is all you need to do.

I suppose I need to simplify my question... Can I apply a new 4 port voicemail pro license and server to this old IP 406, or is there an "old" voicemail pro 4 license I can find out there?

I would put the ip406 underthebus, and sell a new ip500 :)

Never tried but it should work if you buy a preferred edition licence.

They still sell the old licence, make sure you tell them you need the old/original licence, it's more expensive than the new R8+ one :)
